CONFERENCE ON NATIONAL AFFAIRS
APP DUE JANUARY 29. “CONA” is The YMCA Youth “Conference On National Affairs”, a national Youth & Government conference where the best and brightest delegates from more than 30 Youth & Government programs across the country come together to debate proposals of national and international importance, through multi-round debate competitions. NATIONAL JUDICIAL CONFERENCE
APP DUE JANUARY 29. The YMCA National Judicial Competition (NJC) is an annual competition for high school student participants in the model judicial components of the YMCA Youth and Government program. CA Y&G will send teams to participate in the Appellate Court competition this year. Click here for more information and to apply.
MUN SECRETARIAT
APP DUE JANUARY 29. Participants selected to take part in the MUN Secretariat program will oversee and provide leadership to the Y&G Model United Nations program for middle school students. Click here for more information and to apply.
YOUTH MEMBER OF THE Y&G GOVERNING BOARD
APP DUE JANUARY 29. The Advisory Board of Managers for the California YMCA Youth & Government center & program is charged with overseeing the planning and conduct of the work of the center, including its financial affairs, to help ensure responsibility and integrity in a manner consistent with the general purposes, standards and objectives of the YMCA and the policies and operating procedures established by the Association Board.
The term is for one year: April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027. This application is open to all current delegates in the 9th, 10th & 11th grades. Four Model Legislature & Court delegates will be selected to join the Board of Managers. Elected MLC Officers are not guaranteed a seat on the Board. The Board of Managers strives to be a diverse Board, representing all parts of the state. Click here for more information and to apply.
DELEGATE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
APP DUE JANUARY 29. The Delegate Advisory Committee is a statewide committee that works alongside Cal Y Y&G staff to make this program the best it can be. The DAC hopes to represent as many delegates as possible, taking geographic location and delegation size into consideration. The committee is in charge of providing delegate feedback, hosting social times for delegates, creating delegate bulletins, and promoting the spirit of Y&G! The DAC is one of the avenues for change in the program and they work to make this program the best it can be. Click here for more information and to apply.
